Rug Cleaning in New York City
Unlike wood where dirt and soil are easily seen, rugs have dirt and soil within the fibers that are not seen by the owners. This deceives the owners into thinking their rug is clean. This will also give the dirt and soil particles time to wear against the fibers. Over time your rug will lose its luster and eventually deteriorate. To stop this cycle and maintain the beauty of the rug it's best to vacuum the rug regularly and get it professionally cleaned at least once a year.

Our Rug Cleaning Methods:
The first step in our rug cleaning process is giving the rug a good "dusting". Years ago, households would give their rugs a dusting by beating the rug with either a stick or a carpet beater. This would remove the loose dust and dirt from the carpet. However, the physical beating of the rug can cause damage to the fibers and decrease the life of the rug. Our method for "dusting" is to use compressed air to gently lift the dust and dirt from the rug. This is just as effective and much safer.
The next step is hand washing the rug in our free-flowing fresh water bath. However, in order to safely put your rug in the bath, we need to determine if the colors of the rug will bleed. We test your rug for this capability and then use a color-blocker, if necessary, to protect your rug.
Once the rug has been protected from color bleeding, our trained professionals use natural cleaners to gently wash your rug. The free-flowing water allows removed dirt and residue to be carried away from your carpet by the current.
For those rugs that have strong odors, we can place them in another bath that uses large rollers to gently press them out. This decontamination bath is also flowing with fresh water. The fresh water will wash away the odors and reinfuse the fibers with fresh water.
After one more rinse cycle to ensure that only fresh water remains in the rug, we can hang the rug to dry in one of our specially designed fanning rooms. As the rug is drying, this is the opportune time for our technicians to go thoroughly clean the fringe.
Our technicians take each dry rug and systematically groom all the fibers and fringe. They then carefully roll and wrap the rug in a protective plastic. The final step of the process is delivering it to your door! We will also happily unroll and place the rug wherever you'd like.
